Souce: Perfumer & Flavorist
Flavor and fragrance company MANE announced the launch of WELLMOTION, a new platform that analyzes and decodes emotional responses to scent. This platform is rooted in peer-reviewed science and powered by artificial intelligence to address wellness trends in the fragrance industry.
“With WELLMOTION, we are entering a new era where we design fragrances that evoke emotions with intention and precision,” said Caroline Dubourg, director of R&I, consumer goods.
WELLMOTION was developed in collaboration with the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and French biotech company SkillCell. The platform measures emotions in real time through physiological testing. A peer-reviewed scientific study detailing the methodology and findings behind the WELLMOTION platform will be published in September.
The company hopes that this new technology will help enhance the perfumer’s toolkit and give scientific insights to create fragrances with greater accuracy.
“This patented technology uniquely combines subjective human perception with objective physiological signals, unlocking a multitude of creative possibilities,” the company stated in a press release. “With WELLMOTION, we are ushering in a new era, where we can capture and bottle genuine emotions and nostalgic memories that resonate with consumers.”
